Conkling went into business. The railroad track across the street made for convenient delivery from the breweries. (Left) John takes a break from his route to pose beside one of the delivery vehicles in the company s fleet (Right) At the time, one of the area s more popular brews was Blatz Beer. Keeping supplies stocked with John (at right), is his brother-in-law, Cy Ackerman (Left) Getting together with a crowd of thirsty patrons at The Round-Up Room (located in the basement of the old Gurney Hotel), John (far right), enjoys one of this products. (Right) John s son Dan, ran the family business which was located on the east end of Yankton in the warehouse Conkling s constructed in 1972 (Left) Today, at their current location on East Hwy. 50 since 1998.
