Lauren Schild Eleanor Rhoades Parents: Mark & Melanie Ryken Grade: 6th School: Yankton Middle School Why Nominated? Rex is a wonderful example for his classmates. He is kind and helpful to others. Favorite School Memory(s): My favorite memory is when the nice Alix Peterka welcomed me to a lunch table in 6th grade when I just moved to SD. Now she is one of my best friends. Layne is a great student who cares about his work and is always ready for class. He treats others with kindness and respect and is an excellent role model. Favorite Subject(s): All my subjects. Favorite School Memory(s): My favorite school memory is going to my first day in YMS. Parents: Roger and Tammi Adam Grade: 6th School: Yankton Middle School Why Nominated? Halie is a conscientious student who works hard and is self-motivated. She is a great role model for other students. Favorite Subject(s): Science and Social Studies. Favorite School Memory(s): Last year on the last day of school we were playing a game where you had to put the cone up or knock it down. But it was girls against boys and everytime we put a cone up the boys knocked it back down. It was really hard to win. He is always striving to do his best on his assignments and activities. Favorite Subject(s): Social Studies and Science Favorite School Memory(s): My favorite memory is watching the Watertown Arrows which is my vice principal s former high school, get obliviated by our Yankton Bucks football team during the homecoming football game of 2012. Favorite School Memory(s): When Owen Feser put a rubber snake on Mrs. Bertsch s chair and she screamed when she went to sit down. A.J. Fernandez Parents: Tony & Shawn Radack Grade: 8th School: Yankton Middle School Why Nominated? Shelby is a dedicated student who puts forth her best effort and is a leader in the classroom. She is committed to putting forth her best. Favorite Subject(s): Math, band, and Chorus Favorite School Memory(s): Playing my trumpet and singing at the Veteran s Day program. Favorite School Memory(s): Making the team and getting to go to the National Science Olympiad competition in Florida. He always puts in 100% effort into whatever he is doing. He strives for good grades and understanding the concepts. Mason works well with other students and is always kind and courteous.
